Vital Signs Connections

City of Kawartha Lakes is very supportive of the Kawartha Community Foundation’s Vital Signs study which gives us a data snapshot of how we are doing as a community. The municipality uses this data to help move our community forward.

Vital Signs is a community check-up conducted by community foundations across Canada that measures the vitality of our communities and identifies significant trends in a range of areas critical to quality of life. Vital Signs is coordinated nationally by Community Foundations of Canada.

The purpose of this report is to provide a broad and encompassing picture of our City and its population as a basis for collective action toward the future we would like to see. At a time when Kawartha Lakes is experiencing significant population growth, demographic change, pressures on housing and health systems, and a rapidly evolving local economy, this kind of shared, evidence-based understanding is especially important.
